IFS Intensives

**Currently scheduling a limited number of IFS Intensives for Summer 2025.**

I offer Internal Family Systems (IFS) Intensive sessions that provide you an opportunity to carve out extra time and space to explore your inner world. IFS Intensives are an accelerated form of therapy designed to help you go deeper faster and experience healing at a quicker rate than weekly individual therapy.
During your individually curated IFS Intensive, you will be engaging in deep, personal work that can result in profound self-understanding. A concentrated therapy experience is right for you if you are looking for faster results in session so you can independently apply what you learn outside of session.
An IFS Intensive will include several 90 min - 150 min sessions per week for 1-3 weeks. Prior to starting, we will have a 60-min intake where we will structure your personal Intensive plan, get to know what parts you would like to focus on, and prepare for the experience. After the intensive sessions, we will have one 60-min debrief session to reflect on insights gained and develop a maintenance plan for ongoing solo IFS practice.
  • First, we will schedule a free 15-20 minute consultation call to make sure this is the right fit for you. After that, we will schedule your initial intake session. During this meeting, we will get to know each other, I will learn more about your story, and we will identify the parts of yourself that you would like to get to know better. Based on this information, we will plan out the duration and frequency of your intensive sessions.

The length of intensive sessions can vary based on individual need (e.g., schedule, finances, fatigue). They typically range from 90 minutes (1.5 hours) to 150 minutes (2.5 hours) and occur 2-3 times per week. We will develop your plan based on your individual needs.

During the intensive sessions, we will be engaging in direct IFS practice aimed at noticing what parts are present, acknowledging their existence, identifying their purpose, and developing a stronger relationship between yourself and each part. In doing so, we will likely find that these parts are protecting younger, more vulnerable parts of yourself. Some call these their inner children. These parts typically experienced pain and suffering and are often stuck in the past. With the permission of your protective system, you will be able to show up for these younger parts in the ways they need most, release them of their burdens, and heal their wounds.

I intentionally space out these intensive sessions over the course of 1-3 weeks so you have the opportunity to notice the impact this work has on your external world. This also gives you the opportunity to check in with your internal system and build the skills to practice IFS on your own.

After your intensive sessions, we will meet for a 60-min debrief session to process the experience, identify moments of insight and transformation, and plan for how to maintain what you learned.

  • This type of work is an investment in time, energy, and finances. However, it can provide healing at a faster rate than shorter, weekly therapy sessions, so it can end up saving you in the long run.

    • IFS Intensives are a good fit for you if you are familiar with IFS and want to dive deeper into your own system.

    • They can be an excellent add-on to your ongoing individual therapy, especially if you or your therapist feel a bit stuck.

    • They are a great option if you don’t have time for weekly individual sessions and would like to take a short amount of time away from your busy schedule for self-healing.

    • You may be interested in an IFS Intensive if you are a professional who is learning IFS and want to deepen your relationship with your own parts.

    • IFS is an extremely affirming modality that aligns really well with the neurodiversity movement and social model of disability. An IFS Intensive can be helpful for neurodivergent folks who have found that other modalities have not been helpful for them.

  • My practice is out-of-network, which means I do not work directly with insurance. I accept debit, credit, and HSA/FSA cards for payment and will provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company should you choose to do so.

Out of network intensive sessions may or may not be covered by insurance. However, you can call your insurance company to ask if they would provide reimbursement for any portion of our work together. You should ask about CPT Codes 90791, 90837, and 99354, and specifically ask about longer sessions (90 minutes - 2.5 hours).

Fees are billed after each session. They are as follows:

    • The intake session is $200.

    • Intensive sessions are billed at a rate of $200/hr. (e.g., $300/90 minutes, $400/two hours).

    • The debrief session is $200.

  • IFS Intensives can take place in-person in my office (off of I-40 in Burlington, NC) or virtually over Zoom.

I am able to meet virtually with clients located in most states. I am licensed in NC and NY and also can see anyone located in a PSYPACT state.
