Hello!

More about me…

I pride myself on being a warm, authentic clinician who understand that you are a fellow human being doing the best you can to survive and, dare I say, thrive in a not-so-simple world with a not-so-simple brain. I am here as your ally, resource, and guide to help you better understand your story within the context of a complicated world.
You may feel stuck, confused, and overwhelmed…but you are not broken. You do not need to be fixed. Your challenges are most likely a normal reaction to a difficult situation and tough societal expectations.
During the process of therapy, you will gain an incredible understanding of all internal parts of you. By increasing your relationship with each individual part, you will begin to experience inner connectedness, calm and peace that will extend to your external world.
Dr. Caroline Long, Psy.D. (she/her)

I am a Level One trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist and integrate this work into all therapy sessions. Learning and practicing IFS has been a professionally and personally transformative experience for me. This type of deep inner work offers the potential for an abundance of self-awareness and healing that extend outward into external relationships and experiences. In addition to IFS, I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other interpersonal and insight-oriented therapies.

I am one of those career students who never stops seeking new information, training, and resources. You’ll likely hear me nerd out about a book I’m reading, a podcast I just listened to, or a conference I just attended. You deserve the best and I will certainly pour my heart and soul into our work together because, well, I just can’t help it. I’m a natural-born caretaker, healer, and empath with the drive and dedication of a lifelong athlete.

My Approach.

I grew up in Baltimore, MD and attended Duke University for undergrad where I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology. While at Duke, I played Division I lacrosse and competed in two Final Fours.

Immediately after Duke, I moved on to Nova Southeastern University in South Florida to complete my Psy.D. in School Psychology. My training includes a clinical internship treating complex trauma and a postdoctoral fellowship focused in neuropsychological evaluations and therapy.

Over the course of 10+ years of clinical experience, I have narrowed my niche to working with adolescents, college students, and young adults struggling with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and identity. I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent individuals, college students, and athletes.

My Story.

Autism and neurodiversity have been areas of hyperfocus for many years now. I can’t learn, read, or research enough about these topics.

My Interests.

Yoga and running help supplement my own therapy. I am a 200-hour registered yoga teacher and am passionate about the benefits of the mind-body connection.

If I’m not working, then I’m usually playing with or walking my best bud, Webster.

I’ve been a music nerd for as long as I can remember. I attend as many live music events as possible. There’s nothing like it!
